Maywood 2020 - Camp Update
One of the highlights of the summer for so many of our youth is Maywood Christian Camp. It has been the finale of our summer activities for a really long time. As our country continues to deal with COVID-19, I know many of you have been asking if camp is going to happen this year.
Here is what we know, unfortunately, it is not a lot.
We know, as of Saturday May 16, that all of the weeks of camp at Maywood for the month of June have been cancelled. That is the bad news. The good news is that, AS OF NOW, July camps are able to happen. Please understand that many changes are going to happen to our week of camp in order to comply with COVID-19 restrictions. Those changes will affect the number of campers allowed, on-site visitors, and so much more. More of those details will come out as we receive more information from the Maywood Board of Directors and as our State Government makes adjustments moving forward with COVID.
We say all of that to say this…if you are planning to go to camp, or even thinking you might want to go to camp you need to register as soon as possible.
Please understand that it is still possible that our week may be shut down. If that happens, we would ask you to prayerfully consider donating your down payment to Maywood. Remember that Camp Maywood is losing all revenue from the month of June and that is a significant amount of what is needed to keep the camp operating all year long.
Say a prayer that this COVID-19 crisis will pass quickly and please pray for Camp Maywood to continue to be a shining beacon of light to thousands of people for the name of Jesus Christ.
