Lads to Leaders/Leaderettes

Lads to Leaders/Leaderettes

Founded in 1968, Lads to Leaders/Leaderettes is a remarkable leadership program within the churches of Christ.  L2L trains children from a young age to become successful adults.  This program is available to boys and girls from the 3rd grade through high school.    Children as young as 3rd grade can begin participating in events such as public speaking, song leading, oral Bible reading, puppets, art, Bible Bowl and many other events.  Many events, such as debate, are available to older children along with other programs that develop teaching skills and "life skills" that prepare for the work environment.

Lads to Leaders conventions are held once a year on Easter Sunday in six major locations.  Convention sites are Nashville, Atlanta, Memphis, Orlando, Dallas and Louisville.  Each year, thousands of young people gather at each location to compete in the various Lads to Leaders/Leaderettes events.  Awards are given for the top achievers in each category.  Competition is part of life, whether you are running a race or competing for a job.  It's as important to learn to lose as it is to learn to win.  Lads to Leaders teaches competition in a healthy, Christian environment.  In reality, there are no losers in Lads to Leaders.  All children who participate are developing life-long skills that will benefit them throughout their lives.  More importantly, they are developing skills to help lead others to Christ.

If you are interested in your child becoming a leader one day, Lads to Leaders/Leaderettes can help achieve that goal.  For more information, visit the official Lads to Leaders/Leaderettes website.

This year’s convention was a huge success! We had many finalists and winners in speech and song leading, and a third place puppet team. Many of our youth also participated in yearround events such as speech, songleading, Bible reading, scrapbooking, Mass Media, and other events.
