The Morning Glory

The Glory of the Morning Glory

I sit in the early dawn and watch the morning glory vine

I do enjoy just watching every twist and twine

It wraps around the birdbath and the gazing ball of blue

And wrapping 'round the fence rail each bud comes into view

I watch them slowly open, and right before my eyes

they reveal to me each morning, a colorful surprise

In the cool and dew of morning the blossoms open wide

Until the heat of sunshine makes them shrink and hide

But surely, tomorrow at the dawning

There will be, glory in the morning
